Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl) is one of my favorite picks when it comes into horror/supernatural genres in anime. The protagonist here is Enma Ai, a girl who performs her duties to bring agonied souls to hell for at least 400 years. She lives in an eternal twilight together with her mysterious grandmother and with her three helpers (in the first season).
Though, you don't need to watch every season in Jigoku Shoujo to be able to comprehend the plot, you should watched the second season to be able to understand the third season why did Enma Ai "died".
After the "supposed death" of Enma Ai, she returns to fulfill her duty as the Jigoku Shoujo.
She uses the body of a young 9th grader, Yuzuki Mikage, as her vessel to move around. Mikage sees Ai's vision through her dreams.
Kikuri manages to recruit Ai's three helpers to continue the Hell Correspondence operations.
Let's see what Jigoku sjoujo Mitsuganae unfolds in this story.
,
Watch it in Crunchyroll unti it is not yet liscenced!
What I liked best in this anime is its artistic features. At first, it shows off traditional Japanese oil paintings. It may look scary, but it is not. Unless, you dare to send someone in hell. If you are courageous enough, access the Hell Correspondence via online. Wait until the clock strikes midnight, until you finally accessed it.
