C'mon everybody! Today is Christmas. Well, to be perfectly honest, I don't know how to start the day right. It seems that everyone is so busy. Well, I expect it to be like that. I felt that I kinda treated the holiday just like any ordinary day as I would. I woke up late in the morning, past 8:00 perhaps since I have no interest looking at my clock when I woke up, finding out that everyone in my family is dressed up and it seems like we're going off somewhere. Yes, I was asked to prepare myself because we're going to Alabang to spend our holiday with my aunt's family.
As we fetched my grandparents (since they want to tag along), I've noticed children around 5-7 years of age going from house to house to receive blessing from their godmothers and godfathers. I kinda missed doing that when I was at that age. It made me reminisce the things that I'm doing for the past Christmas. Somehow, it made me realize that Christmas is not only the season for sharing and giving your love to other people, also it makes family bonds grow tighter.
We arrived at Alabang for around 1 and a half hour since there was only a light traffic in DasmariƱas, my adorable cousin welcomed us to their newly built house in Alabang. Somehow, it made me a bit jealous because of the luxurious life my cousin is spending her life on. But, I thank the heavens for giving me my parents whose occupations are not related anything about politics and government. It might give me a major headache for not allowing to go out of the house everyday unless I am permitted to do so.
What makes the day exciting for my part? Seeing my cousins that lives very distant from me. It makes me happy because I got the whole day to spend quality time to get a heart-to-heart conversations, watch off movies, listening and browsing albums using iTunes in their laptop, play a whack of fun in their Nintendo Wii and even burning up a pork while cooking. I can treat my cousins like my best friends. Aside from having the same bloodline, it seems that they're the only ones who could understand you immediately. Plus, having the fun discussions about Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga and David Archuleta's single, Crush.
We just stayed in my aunt's for the whole day since it's very rare to have us cousins all-gathered up. Too bad, my other cousins from overseas can't spend the Yuletide season with us, but they are connected to the Internet as we chatted to them. It was fun, though. It feels like they're also here.
Truly, the essence of Christmas is to connect family bonds and make them stronger than ever before.
