Campus Idol + Family Day

Last January 30, 2009, our school had celebrated Family Day (I already forgot the theme). It is very rare for CNSHS to held out an event like this, if I remembered correctly, we celebrated Family Day also when I was still in my freshmen years. Well, that was way too long ago.

Wearing our 'oh-so-colorful' English Club t-shirt, I went in to the accommodations table and helped my fellow club members since the parents' signature is very important. (Well, if your parent isn't that interested enough, he/she/they could go home after signing up the attendance sheet. Too bad, my parents didn't thought of that plan even though they're very bored. My mom actually wants to join a game but it is already planned, so she just chatted with whom she knew.)

As for the program, it went well actually. Especially when Dana and (uhmm.. who's with her again?) danced on the stage with her moves. It left our jaws hanging wide (as flies went into my mouth and thought it was a cold, comfortable cave to hide). As her number ended, her fellow classmates went to her and hugged her (I almost thought that she'll choke because of how the way Jan hugged her. Peace, sis!) as the others gave her a round of applause.

I stayed inside our room after the first round of Family Feud hosted by Mr. Emmanuel B. Ces (Mr. Vita-Plus Endorser) which was between Hamto Family and (I forgot the last name of their opponent) because I was feeling uneasy and suffocated with too much people. Did I mention that I had fever the night before this event? I didn't? Now, you know.

"This is American Idol!"

Nah-uh. We're not in America, guys. We aren't watching Simon give good criticisms to those aspiring contestants. We're actually witnessing a similar show, too bad, it is not televised (Why should it be televised? The institution doesn't even have a media sponsor). Today's the Pre-Finals of the Campus Idol, where 17 contestants will compete to get through the finals.

There were performances up to the most boring level that I saw some students going into Dreamland and parents are just chit-chatting. Some of the performances are outstanding especially the ala-'Jordin Sparks' moment, Czareenah.

See the resemblance? I told you, it was very spine-tingling performance. Me, Aira and Hannah stood up on our seats and cheered for her. 'This is My Now' is a hard song choice and you must have the guts if you wanted to sing it.

As the final round approaches, every CNSHSians have the liberty to vote out their very first Campus Idol through buying coupon tickets from the Liriko. The ticket costs 1 Philippine Peso. Everyone, I think, in the fourth year level brought out their cash to vote for Czareenah. I admit that she had a shining moment compared with other contestants, maybe that song had captured the hearts of the audience.

The awaited moment. Finals. I was disappointed with Czareenah's song choice, because it won't win her and I already forgot the title of the song. Meanwhile, Ten-ten sang 'No One' by Alicia Keys and I personally thought that the audience won't buy it since Czareenah already captured the hearts of many people and I believe that she would win. Expect the unexpected. It's Ten-ten who won the title. Oh, it's alright. They're not following the real rules of Idol anyway.
