I HAVE SURVIVED!

I have survived the first day in De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde! Being an officially college student seems like I will be facing a whole new world. No longer I am from a province, I can boldly say that I am studying in one of the colleges within the Metropolis. I woke up early in the morning just to make sure I get everything ready: bag, clothes, shoes, make-up kit, etc. My classes start at 7:00 in the morning and will last up to 05:30 in the afternoon. Long breaks will be between them, so I didn't worry.

When I entered the School of Design and Arts (SDA) Campus, I didn't know where to go or what to do. My inner self has started panicking, but I tried my very best to remain calm and determine what to do. There were five elevators and some sophomores or higher years were like staring at me and they immediately know that I'm a freshman? I grabbed my cellphone and started sending messages to Rein and Kimpoi whether they're inside the room or whatsoever. I almost typed in, "get down here and fetch me!" Then, I noticed that there was a girl who was looking down at her cellphone then up to the elevator and back to her cellphone. I thought she was nervous or so. She asked me if I was a freshmen and asked if we could go up to the elevator together. I agreed since I didn't know also what to do. Luckily, she was going to the same floor, 9th floor, and her room assignment is right beside mine. As we parted our ways, I sat in my room as quietly as possible. Then, met up with Kimpoi and a later on, Algebra has started.

It was kind of boring when we had our 1 hour and 20 minutes break. We stayed on the cafeteria for a long time and didn't know where to go or what to do. Afterwards, we went back to the 9th floor and decided to sit on the floor near our next room to held our History class. After that class, we went immediately to the next room to attend Filip11.

At lunchtime, I didn't go with my other blockmates since there was an emergency. I went back to my dormitory to check what was happening. There were only paperworks and ta-da! It's done! I would like to ask my blockmates where are they but I decided to stay and sleep for a few hours since I'm spening almost 2 hours of break.

Going back to the college around 2:15 in the afternoon, I went to the 7th floor to attend my NATSCA1 class. My block was divided into two sections. While waiting for the professor to arrive, I got a chance to know my other blockmates and it's nice to know them. Then, there was a total mix-up of professors. Our "supposed-to-be" professor for this class went into the other section and started teaching. The other professor had no choice but to teach us. That was way weird.

I can say that I have survived the first day of classes!

A warm welcome

"Doing things extraordinarily well"
This is the slogan that was embarked on our minds when we stepped into De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde Frosh Orientation Program.

The day started with video presentations on the Amphitheater. We were seated accordingly to our block. I belonged to FMA7. In case you're wondering, I have decided to take up Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Arts (ABMMA) . I have attended the orientation for ABMMA since that was the schedule indicated on the things CSB has provided during the confirmation of slots.

After listening and watching all of the presentations, we went to the assigned classrooms according to block sections. Well, it was kind of awkward since you don't know anybody unless you're with someone from the same high school as you are. If you're lucky, the same block as you are. I was very quiet since I really don't know anyone. Good thing, the presentors prepared something that will have you at least know someone from your block section.

First thing, we introduced ourselves. Like we stood in front of everyone and say our whole names, nicknames, which high school we came into and a little fact about ourselves. I was kinda timid because I was being overwhelmed by my shyness. Then, there was a boy who told everyone that he can dance Soulja Boy. To lessen the tension, the seniors told him to dance in front of everyone in which he really did it. Thus, he was now named "Soulja Boy".

We played sushi roll, wherein you must hold hands with two other persons on each side and start to jump around. Yes, it was a hell lot of fun but it really made me break a sweat. After playing, they explained the school rules and regulations. Like what to wear, what to bring, the do's and do not's, The LaSallian Prayer and Hymn. They even showed us a video titled "I'd rather be green than be blue", go ahead Youtube it!

We got a chance to sit-in with my blockmates to get to know each other within 2 minutes or less, so that in the first day of classes, we won't be awkward with each other. I was rather the 'I'll-answer-your-every-question-but-I-don't-have-any-questions-to-ask-you' type. I was asking the same questions thrown at me, but sometimes I tried to initiate the conversation since sometimes we're both shy to start asking. I haven't met everyone, unfortunately. But, I'm looking forward to meet everyone when classes start.

After the orientation, we held a campus tour only on the Taft Campus (Main Building) which we all believed that we must be toured on our building since we'll be having our classes on the other building. I was getting confused with every hallway since it seems like they're all the same. Afterwards, we all went to the basketball court to watch the pep squad. As we are about to go home, we had some picture taking moments.

I went to Starbucks beside the college together with Rein, the first person I've met within my blockmates, and everyone else which I immediately forgotten their names. I am not good with remembering names. Since the said coffee shop cannot accomodate any more costumers, we all decided to go to Tokyo Tokyo which is also right beside Starbucks. There, we all mentioned our names once again and a moment of awkward silence. Good thing, Kimpoi broke the silence and he got everyone's cellphone numbers. We were around five at that time, and if I am not mistaken remembering their names, they are Chasa, Rein, Kimpoi, Dey and me. We bid our goodbyes when it's the time to depart. We shall see each other on our first day!

Happy Mother's Day

Have ever thought of giving a bouquet or a gift to your mom to appreciate of whatever she has done everything to you? Well, you should give her something. You are obligated to do so. After all, she did all her best to make you of what as your are today.

Remember the time when she spent her sleeping hours just to make you happy and contented? Remember the time she always divert all of her attention to take care of your needs? Now is the time to pay her back of all the things she has done.

Write a letter, give her a bouquet, sing a song, spend quality time with her. She'll be delighted.

To all Mothers in the world, Happy Mother's Day!

P.S. I thought my daughter, Gen, would forget to greet me. (LOL)

Korean Music - Appreciation

I can't believe on what I saw. Being on Plurk has made me discover and accept new things, and one of that is appreciating Big Bang's music. At first, I don't like Big Bang's music and started to wonder why many people started to like and sway into their groove. When I was way back in Crunchyroll, I also wondered why people liked DBSK, Big Bang and Wonder Girls' music. Thanks to Plurk, I learned to appreciate them and I'm starting to get addicted with them.

Big Bang feat. 2EN1 - Lollipop MV

Guess what? In that video, there is Sandara Park. You've heard it. She looked way too stunning in her new career there in Korea. In my opinion, it's better for her to stay in her home country than to have useless careers here. Actually, her career roles here in the Philippines are nothing compared to her career in Korea. She was renowned as the "Pambansang Krung-krung ng Pilipinas" when she joined Star Circle Quest Teens. Go for it, Sandy! I knew from the start that you'll have big opportunities inside and even bigger outside the country.

A FRESH Jumpstart!

RAIN. Yes, we are now in a rainy season. There will be cases wherein there are flash floods, plagues, and pollution problems everywhere. Adding up the bad thing, it indicates that school will be starting soon. Summer's over kiddos, stay indoors or you'll end up getting drenched up.

I've used this summer to prepare myself, physically, mentally and socially, to myself exposed to the real world. I made so much fun with these past few days with my family and other friends. Truly, life changes every phase. You take it step by step and you've already reached your goal without realizing it.

After graduating...

and attending summer camps...

and now, preparing to college.
This is a fresh jumpstart to my life!

Last May 5, 2009, I enrolled as a new student in De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde holding the Bachelor's Degree in Multimedia Arts. Now, I have the right to call myself as a BENILDEAN. Animo Benilde! Many new students, like me, and transferees are there also to enroll to the same degree program as I have, as well as others who chose Architecture and Animation as their degree programs. I have my mom to tag along with me, since I'm not yet familiar to the new world I'm facing into.

My parents had made all the necessary preparations. All that's left are the clothes, bags and shoes that I need when I start schooling. Also, moving in to Manila before or on May 19 to mentally prepare myself for the new environment. Oh, my classes will start on May 20. Hope I could make friends easily with my block section, FMA7.

I am reaching for new and higher expectations. I am hoping to cope with the changes with my new environment, new school and new set of friends I will be hanging with. A jumpstart of life!
