It's been a while...

C'mon everybody! Today is Christmas. Well, to be perfectly honest, I don't know how to start the day right. It seems that everyone is so busy. Well, I expect it to be like that. I felt that I kinda treated the holiday just like any ordinary day as I would. I woke up late in the morning, past 8:00 perhaps since I have no interest looking at my clock when I woke up, finding out that everyone in my family is dressed up and it seems like we're going off somewhere. Yes, I was asked to prepare myself because we're going to Alabang to spend our holiday with my aunt's family.

As we fetched my grandparents (since they want to tag along), I've noticed children around 5-7 years of age going from house to house to receive blessing from their godmothers and godfathers. I kinda missed doing that when I was at that age. It made me reminisce the things that I'm doing for the past Christmas. Somehow, it made me realize that Christmas is not only the season for sharing and giving your love to other people, also it makes family bonds grow tighter.

We arrived at Alabang for around 1 and a half hour since there was only a light traffic in Dasmariñas, my adorable cousin welcomed us to their newly built house in Alabang. Somehow, it made me a bit jealous because of the luxurious life my cousin is spending her life on. But, I thank the heavens for giving me my parents whose occupations are not related anything about politics and government. It might give me a major headache for not allowing to go out of the house everyday unless I am permitted to do so.

What makes the day exciting for my part? Seeing my cousins that lives very distant from me. It makes me happy because I got the whole day to spend quality time to get a heart-to-heart conversations, watch off movies, listening and browsing albums using iTunes in their laptop, play a whack of fun in their Nintendo Wii and even burning up a pork while cooking. I can treat my cousins like my best friends. Aside from having the same bloodline, it seems that they're the only ones who could understand you immediately. Plus, having the fun discussions about Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga and David Archuleta's single, Crush.

We just stayed in my aunt's for the whole day since it's very rare to have us cousins all-gathered up. Too bad, my other cousins from overseas can't spend the Yuletide season with us, but they are connected to the Internet as we chatted to them. It was fun, though. It feels like they're also here.

Truly, the essence of Christmas is to connect family bonds and make them stronger than ever before.

Christmas Party 2008

Today is the school’s Christmas party. I do not know whether I should feel excited or what. This is the very last time I will celebrate a Christmas Party in high school at CNSHS. True, I’ll miss every moment of it so I decided to cherish it? If it is worth to be cherished, that is the case.

Okay, it was around 4 AM when I woke up. I can’t sleep because of the noise created by our neighbors. I decided to go back to sleep. I woke up 6 in the morning. 15 minutes later, my service van will arrive soon. I told to my mother that I will not go with the service and go to school at least 8 in the morning and I really did that. My plan was not to go in the morning program because it is the school level party held by the Supreme Student Government. When I received Marco’s text message, that’s the time I decided to go to school to join his boredom. When I arrived at school at least quarter to 8 o’ clock, Marco showed to me his black-tinted fingernails. How I envy those nails, I wanted to apply a black nail polish on my fingernails, too. Not to show off that I’m emo or whatsoever.

The program was way too boring. I didn’t notice that the people around me were already playing games because I was so busy talking stuffs with Gerlyn and Kathleen in the school’s gymnasium. At least, I joined in the fun of cheering to my batchmates. I remembered how Jerice dragged me to join the “Touch Me Not” game. I just guessed a slippery banana. I laughed to myself when I asked about Alyssa and Brian Tomas if the game was safe to play.

Before the morning program ends, the juniors gave the whole school a performance which the seniors enjoyed jamming around. We just said these few lines: “I’ll be here forever… forever… I’ll be here forever…”, along with waving of hands in the air. After that, the seniors gave us a nice performance? Actually, I cannot understand what the hell are Milky and Paul singing up there. Even though, we swayed through the beat. Brian was still cool in the drums and Nico was still crazy as ever. The seniors gave another performance, but this time it was dedicated to someone. Our class president and tropa ng lahat, Jasper John Z. Vergara. Jerolyn, the SSG president, stood up with her electric guitar and lead the band composing of herself in guitars and vocals, Jake in guitars, Jehno in bass, and Brian in drums. Despite of their past relationship, she sang ‘Last Look’ of Chicosci and everyone stared at Jasper (he was having an intimate time with Claudine here) and pulled him towards the stage to duet with Jerolyn.

At last! It is lunch break, and I needed to go home to fetch my gift to Napoleon which I’ll discuss later why I was needed to go home. As I was about to go back to school, I needed to catch a bus going to Maragondon to have a cheaper fare. I was kind of irritated in the bus conductor because the way he stares at me scares the hell out of me. When he asked my destination, he sat right beside me and I had to move away an inch (I was supposed to move a feet away if weren’t for the bus window) to avoid the skin contact. I had to glare evilly at him to have him stay away from me. I am not comfortable if someone is looking at me and having those creepy skin contacts. When I arrived at school, he was still looking at me. A maniac. You bet he is! Good heavens, I am safe from him or else, I’ll use my kung-fu to him!

When I entered our classroom, I was kind of surprised when my adviser, Ma’am Adette, told me that I was going to represent the class of being Ms. Suave, a mini-competition wherein the girl must be a boy. I was supposed to say a big N-O to her, I have a nagging feeling if I refuse her, she’ll lower my grades in Advanced Physics! I had no choice but to agree to it but I told to her that I won’t bring home the bacon because: first, I don’t know how to act as a boy since I’m a certified girl. Secondly, even though I have an older brother, I used to grow up in the pampering of my mother in Barbie stuffs so I won’t get a boy influence on me. Thanks to Camille for my “boy attire” clothes, I was made to be a boy. Good luck to me.

After doing some parlor games, the mini-competition has begun. I had no choice but to step in right there and do whatever. The problem is: I don’t have self-confidence to do that. I might be “thick-faced” with my classmates, but I cannot put up that face into my batchmates. It was so embarrassing. Plus, they were not used to see me in wearing ‘boy’ clothes. I was totally distracted when my adviser sat in front of the stage. That’s why I don’t know what to do. I asked Jervie and Napo at the back to tell me what should I do, and they gave me nonsense advices. Thanks to them, I have to face a total humiliation. I don’t carry that self-confidence when it comes into competitions like this. I have a confidence in which I can sing my heart out with my band; after all I am their vocalist. Oh, another factor why I lost my confidence: all of the competitors are SALIW members. That gives me triple damn. Micah Borja on Nitrogen, Jerolyn on Oxygen and Jacque on Hydrogen. How can a commoner like me can compete with them? They’re super talented people while I’m just a trash.

Jacque was declared the winner in Ms. Suave. After that, we played another classic parlor game: the longest line. Fluorine is really biased when it comes to this game. You see, we have the most population in the whole batch when it comes into class population. We had to lay down everything, and what’s nice here? My boy classmates wanted to win so much that they decided to wear just their boxers in order to win the game. The only problem is another game wherein we must wear everything that we took off. Okay, we lost that game. It is alright because we all had fun.

Kainan blues na! Me, Camille, Joan and Hannah had already a mouth-watering foods on our plates but we’re not yet contented. After eating, my class (Fluorine) locked ourselves in our room and started to sing along in the videoke. We sang many songs and some of them were: Hot by Avril Lavigne & Hotel California. After that, we had our annual exchanging of gifts. Now you wonder why do I have to go home earlier? It is because the meat might be spoiled. Remember that I bought a CDO Pear-shaped ham to Napoleon. I was surprised when Jehno granted one of my Christmas wishes: to have an American Boulevard bag.

After the party, we went to Jasper’s house to celebrate the last Christmas party that we’re going to spend with him. Only close friends were invited. We watched a lot of horror DVDs and even a pirated Twilight DVD. Edu Manzano will be angry at us because we support piracy.

To freshen up, we went to the seaside to enjoy our stay even though it was already near midnight when we went there. It was freezing cold there. I had to endure the cold because I don’t have any jacket or sweater to warm me up. When we went back, my mother fetched me home. It was a great experience just in one day. Totally fun!

Let's go shopping!

Cavite National Science High School Entrance Examination, first screening. Over 300 over potential elementary students from the graduating batch are struggling to enter one of the most prestigious high schools here in Cavite. Wow, I advertise my own school. Well, it doesn’t sound like I’m advertising it, but it appears like a newscaster or a journalist saying about the entrance exam in CNSHS.

I didn’t volunteer myself in the school. Duh? Why should I? I have to go shopping to have something to wear in tomorrow’s Christmas Party plus I haven’t got Napoleon’s Christmas Wish gift: a Purefoods Fiesta Ham that costs about 400 plus in Philippine Peso.

I went to SM Megamall together with my dad and mom. My dad went to his office, San Miguel Corporation, which was on the other side of the said mall. Funny, right? Now I know why many people like to enter in the said corporation because of the close proximity of the corporation to SM Megamall and St. Francis Square and just catch a cab and go to Greenhills or to TriNoma or in other Ayala Malls.
As I roamed around SM Megamall in search of my outfit for tomorrow, I feel like drowning because of too many people inside the building. Either of the buildings were full. Wherever you go, there is always a line: in fitting rooms, restrooms, escalators, record bars, dining area and supermarkets. It ruined my plan in buying an original Twilight Soundtrack. Oh well, it Is always there. Besides, I could just request it to my dad to buy it for me (using my own money).

Thank heavens I decided my outfit. I bought two denim pants and a blouse all from Lee. I was planning to buy on Tribal but there were a lot of people inside the store, so I decided to buy somewhere. My only advice: do not go shopping when it is near the Yuletide season, it might save your life if you follow my advice. I am firmly telling you this since I have experienced getting lost (again) in Ortigas Avenue. Good thing, I remembered some of the streets there so I got back to my dad’s office.

It was a very tiring day for me.

Born to be an artist?

This is the second day of our first Periodic Test in the Third Quarter. I was kind of devastated when I only got 68 percent in my Advanced Physics exam. I’m so dumb when it comes into computation. I need to increase my grades in Advanced Physics, Mathematics and Advanced Chemistry to avail the average of 88, the required average when entering into a scholarship. As much I like to avail these scholarship programs to help my parents to sustain my education in college, there is always one requirement which I can’t comply: the family’s income tax. I am bothering myself to enter these scholarship programs because I am worried about my father’s status in the company since he might be expelled anytime. That is why I am finding ways to earn money even though using Internet as my primary business field, but the question is what product should I sell to the public?

Thinking of graphic design as a business in the Internet would be a nice idea since I have Adobe Photoshop 7.0 in my system, but I don’t have the skill to have it takes to be a graphic designer. I brought my laptop to the school and made Bea’s wallpaper since she requested that I will make her contest entry to the GetAmped Christmas Wallpaper Contest.

Welcome back, Dad!

The day has arrived wherein my father will come back from China. He was there in the last 2 weeks and now he is coming back. What is the fuss about? He will bring back of what he promised me. Think you can guess it? You don’t? Alright, I’ll say it: a laptop. Yeah, he brought home a laptop.

First thing we did in the morning; we cleaned the whole house from the second floor up to the basement. After all, it is the master of the house who will return from home. It must be clean enough so he won’t be disappointed and let him feel like he’s at home.

Then, we went to Cathedral of Praise in Manila to attend the church mass. We will not attend the Sunday mass anymore because the only important thing there is you must have an attendance in a week. We were late by 5 minutes due to the traffic along Macapagal Avenue up to Taft Avenue.

After attending the mass, we immediately went up to the Centennial Airport to fetch up my dad. As to be expected, there are a lot of traffic jams along the way. My dad was bored of waiting by 10-15 minutes. Hey! It is not our fault to catch up into a heavy traffic. Anyway, we went to Duty Free after that. My dad told us he will only spend 50 US Dollars and we agreed on it. All right, we went shopping!

In the end, we spent 150 US Dollars and my dad was so frustrated at it. He just decided to put it to sleep while we were going home in Cavite. My dad is not driving the cab, so he was very comfortable on his seat sleeping his head off. While I, on the other hand, am a babysitter of 3 naughty kids who likes to stab, punch, kick and torture me most of the time. Yeah, I always go into a battlefield when I baby sit those kids.

When we arrived home (at last), I immediately asked my dad about my laptop. I was kind of disappointed since he brought a TOSHIBA Satellite M325 model and not a HP Pavillion TX2000 or a 13-inch Apple MacBook model. It is fine with me, as long as I finally have my own laptop. This calls for a celebration. That night, I made myself drown into the delicious sweetness of a Berri Apple juice. I really don’t drink liquors. I find myself odd since most of my classmates knows how to drink liquors and stuffs, while I haven’t tasted any of it even a single drop. I am completely ignorant of those things and never will be interested there.

Good thing, my father will be here to celebrate Christmas with us. I don’t want to spend Christmas with a missing member of your family. It just feels sad instead of being merry.

Ended up watching Twilight (again)

Twilight has been the world's most awaited film since Harry Potter and might surpass Harry Potter. For those who haven't watched the movie or read the book(s), it is about a human falling in-love with a vampire. It has four books: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. You can check more information about the movie here: [link]

You watched Twilight for how many times?
I watch it three (3) times already counted the one I went to SM Dasmariñas with my classmates. It is very addictive. First, I watched it alone in SM North Edsa. Then, I watched it again with my cousin in SM Megamall. I'm not that addict, right? It's just an obsession to the movie scenes.

Moving along, why in the hell you watched the movie with your classmates?
I think it's a lot more fun than just watching along or with your relatives. Looking at the picture from the left clearly shows that you can be yourself or act the exact opposite of your silent and calm demeanor.

As we got there, we checked the movie's schedule and bought our tickets. After that, we roamed around in our separate ways and talked that we will assemble again 15 minutes early before the movie schedule in front of the movie house.

Me and Marco went in our way to National Bookstore to check out something and it turned out buying a magnetic bookmark. I was supposed to buy Hamlet by William Shakespeare but I cringed when I saw the price. I decided not to buy it anymore and go back tomorrow with my mother so I have money to buy it.

You and Marco, again? What relationship do you have?
We're just best friends. Nothing more, nothing less. Besides, we have been together for 3 years now. We're not classmates during the sophomore year. He's always in vain, just like me. But we do create our own vanity.

The picture at the right completely states that he's trying to express himself by strangling a Hannah Montana paper statue inside the mall premises. It is clearly said the artist should not be touched, so he tried his best that he looks like he's strangling her. Hannah approves of this one. This picture is given 5 stars!

You are off to watch the movie. So, how did it went?
Ah, me and Hannah frantically surrendered our digital cameras first to the guards since it is strictly prohibited inside. We got the Premiere Deluxe, the best seats inside the movie house. We watched up some trailers that talk about supernatural stuffs. My classmates started to open up a bag of chips and we started munching up the curls. As I opened my squid balls, the lights went off and the show's gonna begin.

Lights off, movie in action!
I sat comfortably inside the movie house as I am eating my squid balls. Suddenly, when the lights went off, a pack of girls squealing and shouting welcomed the movie. Some people inside the movie house tried their best to ignore them as we ignored them too. Anyway, you can't avoid to have fangirls inside especially when you watched the movie several times already.

I won't tell the story since it will be considered as a spoiler, besides it is a requirement for everybody to watch it. I also recommend to those who haven't read the book yet, please do avail the book. You won't regret it, I promise. It is a vampire love story filled with chills, thrills and a star-crossed vampire love that [Stephanie Mayer] made.

What are their comments to the movie?
I tried my best not to blurt out any spoilers while watching the movie. As soon it was done, they were moved and thrilled to the unexpected vampire romance the movie had brought. They gave over 5 stars just for the first movie.

"Unexpectedly the best!"
"Edward Cullen [Robert Pattinson] did a good job!"
"Romance, suspense & action all in one!"
"I just love how the background music goes"
