DLS-CSB Blazing Experience

De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde is a member De La Salle Philippines, which compromised of 17 schools here in the Philippines. It is a private Catholic college located right in front of De La Salle University - Manila in Taft Avenue, Malate, Manila.

I applied as a late applicant for the entrance examination, and because of that I have to abide in their rules and regulations regarding on my case. I signed a contract that I, as a late applicant, will not complain on their test results but also on the availability of the slots. I had my classmates, Tin-Anne and Gerlyn with her mom, to accompany me. Since they will also pass their application forms to Adamson University which I had to think it over if I'm going to pass mine, too.

I hate the scheduled test date. It was March 15. A night before that was my Junior-Senior Promenade, a night that surely I want to spend up until morning. Hell no, I am in my testing area early in the morning to take the stupid entrance exam. I am very convinced that those foreign students made my blood boil since I woke up into a very bad mood.

As I entered my test room, it was freezing fuckin' cold. Good thing, I brought a jacket which was indicated on the reminders. I had a slight headache at the time I was taking up the English subtest. My sleep only lasted for 4 hours and I can't stand that. I am used sleeping only 5 hours, but not 4 hours or less.

Here comes the hard part. The Mathematics subtest. I quite remembered on DLSU-M's entrance test, most of them are Trigonometry and Geometry. Here in DLS-CSB, there a lot of Business Mathematics here. The problem is, I haven't took that as an elective on my sophomore level in high school. I really regret having Botany as my Elective subject back then. As time finishes, I haven't got the chance to answer 15-20 last questions of the subtest. Since then, I started praying to God to have me pass that damn exam.

Here comes the fast round. If you're familiar with visual representations during exams, you'll have to answer around 30 items of those things within only 8 minutes. At first, I started to panic. I shaded every circle I think would be the best answer. When I had 2 minutes to spare, I started reviewing my answers and most of them are wrong. I immediately grabbed my eraser and repeated them all over again. Good thing, I made it at time.

If you're planning to take their entrance exams in the future, why not follow some of my tips? It wouldn't harm you anyway.

- Bring jacket/sweater and make sure you're wearing pants and shoes. 'Coz it's damn cold inside their rooms more than DLSU-M.

- Again, don't bother to bring snacks to eat. You'll be only given a 15-minute break only to be used for restroom purposes.

- Luckily, there's no essay writing in DLS-CSB. Though, you have to look carefully at those damn visual representations. It can make you go dizzy.

- Have your pencils sharpened.

- Stay relaxed while taking up the exam. Don't mind other people sneezing, coughing or whatsoever. Just concentrate and relax.

- Pursuade one of your classmates to take the entrance exam, too. As for my case, I haven't pursuaded anyone and I'm alone. I spent my remaining 5-minute break texting with Gerlyn. Make sure you're subscribed to unlimited services.

I do hope I can pass this exam, too!
From now on, I wanted an Art course. I blame my NCAE results for this one.

Next stop, Asia Pacific College in Makati.
