2009's ABC

2009 has been a very good year to me. Even though, I've tried to cope up and adjust every month. It helped me a lot to become to re-discover myself, my likes and dislikes, it helped me to meet my new friends, and adjusted to my new environment. Let me cite you my unforgettable experiences in this year.

American Idol Season 8's Adam Lambert. Who could have ever forgotten this stage actor that shocked everyone with his performances? He took a great risk to dumbstruck the audience with his creative renditions, and also shocked the netizens regarding his controversial photos.

Boys Over Flowers. This Korean drama adaptation of a Japanese manga, Hana Yori Dango, surely became an instant hit across Asia. Of course, we all have this kilig feeling between Koo Hye Sun (Geum Jan Di) and Lee Min Ho (Goo Jun Pyo). Girls surely fell in-love with SS501's leader, Kim Hyun Joong (Yoon Ji Hoo) and the baby-faced Kim Bum (So Yi Jung), who visited the Philippines.

Cory, di ka nag-iisa. The outpouring respect, admiration and greatfulness to the late President Corazon Aquino incited. To her life, her service to the Filipinos, and even to her death, it served as reawakening agent for our social conscience and what we are capable of doing.

Eighties (80's) Revival. My plain, boring wardrobe has changed drastically. From pastel-colored polo shirts, A-cut denim pants and sneakers to off-shoulder blouses, ripped off acid-washed jeans and high heels. Surely, you can't resist its loud colors, sparkly sequins, big hair and embellished accessories. I still need more stuff in my dresser. Feel free to donate. :))

FMA7 is my block section. When I first arrived in college, I thought I'll be having a hard time to adjust and to cope with my new environment. These people who loves to hang-out and give surprise parties will deal with your ups and downs of life. I thank my block section for being there for me always, I miss you guys. Goodluck with our finals. Let me copy your notes, please! I beg of you!

Cavite National Science High School Batch 2008-2009 Commencement Exercises. Yes, my graduation year back in high school. We've been through the ups and downs and I met my BFFs, and even though we'll go into our separate ways to reach our dreams, we'll always stay in touch no matter what happens. After all, I cherished my high school life a lot. I miss you Single Ladies and Sayanistas.

Influenza A H1N1 virus. Who could have thought that this pandemic flu reach the Philippines? This pandemic flu scared everyone and forced to take necessary precautions to all the people of the world.

Remember the time when a student from De La Salle University - Manila got this sickness and thus suspended from having classes? It is the time wherein students from the said university and De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde took heavy precautions to suspend classes and extending their trimester calendars just to have their students to be safe. Other schools within Metro Manila has followed, thus, students seemed to enjoy their extended vacation from damn schoolwork.

Who could have ever forgotten Wonder Girls' Nobody? Yes, it became our LSS or Last Song Syndrome. KPop or Korean Pop has truly invaded the Philippines! Yes, like an alien who seeks world invasion before domination. I learned to appreciate KPop since I got hooked with Big Bang, SHINee and KARA. Cha, this is all your fault.

Of course, who could have ever forgotten the King of Pop, Michael Jackson? The world was shocked to know that their idol has already passed away despite that he'll be performing his final curtain call. This is it is a movie featuring his rehearsals for his supposed to be last concert showed his world-renowned talent captivated generations and glimpses of the real human behind the legacy of music and trappings for fame. Yes, we've also experienced Ondoy and Pepeng's wrath. Who could ever thought that a simple rain pour could overwhelm Metro Manila and other regions of Luzon? Many people died because of the flood but there are also who risked their lives to become a hero. The spirit of Bayanihan has once again revived the Filipinos. Everyone wants to help, be a blessing to other people, and bring new hope to those who have lost everything. Charity works became a hit. Internet also proved its powers by encouraging people around the globe to donate what they can.

Who could have ever forgotten this Twitter account that accused the Filipino race? Proclaiming that Filipinos are useless monkeys that deserved to be washed away by flood. If ever this person reads this, please do not insult our race unless you wanted us to insult yours. Do not underestimate us Filipinos. We, the Filipinos, build all of the countries including yours, bitch.

It shocked me that my favorite Japanese visual-kei rock band, An Cafe, have released their final album, BB Parallel World, before going to an official hiatus. I really adored their powerful yet enchanting dance-rock songs. Miku made exemptional inspiring lyrics regarding their daily life and their love for the fans. I'll surely miss them. An Cafe, please do come back soon! Come back before my 18th birthday!

Lastly, vampires are on the loose! Stephanie Meyer's Twilight Saga became a supermassive Hollywood film that surely made Twilight fans go crazy. Of course, we can't avoid other people too hate it due to its overratedness and other stuff. But then, fangirls had formed teams for Bella like Team Edward and Team Jacob. Can we just have Team Taylor and Team Robert instead?

Yes, 2009 has surely left us many memories. Let us welcome another year and spend many memories of it!
